As a response to the inequities experienced by the marginalized communities across India, IHRC provides capital from a pool of donations to a carefully selected group of world class organizations whose ethos align with our four pillars of purpose.

 

Asim Siddique Memorial Degree College

ASMDC is a higher educational institution in the district of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh (120 miles east of New Delhi). The college was founded in 2008 to address the glaring lack of education opportunities for marginalized communities in Badaun, the poorest district in India’s poorest state.

Zakat Foundation of India

Zakat has run a wide range of projects since 1997, aimed at addressing the welfare of some of the neediest sections of Indian society, particularly those in the Muslim community. Zakat’s projects include direct support to individuals & communities in need and “macro projects” aimed at increasing representation in government.

Lawyers Collective of Assam (LCA)

LCA, based in the Indian state of Assam, is doing outstanding work providing pro bono legal aid to destitute Indians whose citizenship has been questioned as a result of government policies. 1.9 million citizens have been excluded from the new Assamese citizenship. LCA is determined to protect their citizenship and save them from going to detention centers, including by representing them before Tribunals, the High Court, and the Supreme Court.

No Separate Justice (NSJ)

NSJ is an Indian-American Muslim political advocacy forum with the aim of building awareness about the intersectionality between systemic injustices between the world’s largest and oldest democracies. NSJ aims to highlight India’s human rights and religious freedom records in pertinent Capitol Hill advocacy arenas, think tanks, and grassroots organizations.
